What is Kovra Cloud vs BYOC?
Kovra Cloud is our fully managed platform where we handle all infrastructure for you. BYOC (Bring Your Own Cloud) lets you deploy to your own AWS, GCP, Azure, or bare metal servers. Both get the same Kovra dashboard and deployment experience — the difference is who manages the underlying infrastructure.
Can I migrate from BYOC to Kovra Cloud?
Yes. You can migrate your applications from a BYOC setup to Kovra Cloud (or vice versa) at any time. Your Git repos, environment variables, and deployment configs transfer seamlessly. We provide a migration guide and our support team can help with the transition.
How does private access (VPN) work?
On Business and Enterprise Cloud plans, you get a dedicated VPN endpoint. Connect your team or CI/CD pipeline to access your apps and databases over a private, encrypted tunnel — no public exposure needed. We support WireGuard and OpenVPN.
What databases are supported?
Kovra Cloud currently supports managed PostgreSQL with high availability and automated backups. Redis, MongoDB, and MySQL support is on the roadmap. All databases include point-in-time recovery, automated failover (on HA plans), and encrypted connections.
What happens if I exceed my plan limits?
You can upgrade your plan at any time — changes take effect immediately. If you temporarily exceed your resource allocation, your apps keep running and we notify you so you can adjust. We never shut down your services without warning.
