Regions aren’t permanent on Kovra. Move a service — and its database — to another region with a supervised migration.
Distance is a tax on every request.
Typical round-trip times over the public internet: your users to their nearest Kovra region, versus the same users reaching a platform that only deploys to the US. Numbers vary by ISP — measure your own.
And the tax compounds: a page that makes ten sequential database or API calls pays the round trip ten times. For users far from your region, that’s the difference between a page that loads in under 200 ms and one that takes over a second. Moving the server next to the user fixes what no amount of code optimisation can.
